Smitha Bissonauth
Smitha Algoo-Bissonauth has a robust career in corporate secretarial and administration services. Having joined Intercontinental Trust Limited (ITL) in 2006 as an assistant administrator and over nearly a decade, she advanced to a Senior Manager role in the Listing Department, focusing on companies listed on the SEM, NSX, JSE, and LSE.
Appointed as General Manager of OneLink Ltd for the last 3 years, her primary responsibilities are to develop and serve both listed entities and the domestic market, including clients ranging from a diverse . Smitha has led diverse teams and managed operations encompassing company incorporation, regulatory advisory, corporate administration, secretarial duties as well as registry and transfer agent services for both private and public sector entities. She also serves on the boards of several global business as well as listed and special licensed companies regulated by the Financial Services Commission (FSC). Smitha has developed an in-house registry software that caters for both share registry and bong registry services and has been extensively involved in providing innovative and technology-driven virtual products tailored for the Mauritian market.
Her professional development includes participation in various conferences and trainings on AML/CFT, risk assessment, corporate governance, and best practices in company secretarial roles. With a focus on compliance, she oversees, as MLRO, adherence to FIAMLA/CFT regulations, ensuring any non-compliance issues are promptly reported. Smitha is the president of the Imperium Toastmasters Group in Mauritius.
Manisha Luckheeram
Manisha Luckheeram has been an integral part of the corporate services sector for over 12 years and currently holds the position of Registry Head at Onelink Ltd. She is also an approved officer by the Financial Services Commission (FSC). Prior to her current role, she served as the Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for a well-established management company, strengthening her expertise in compliance and regulatory frameworks.
Manisha’s responsibilities encompass managing Global Business Companies (GBCs), Trusts, Domestic companies, and listed entities on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius (SEM) and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE). She provides key guidance on the incorporation of companies, corporate governance, regulatory matters, and ensures that corporate administration and secretarial practices are upheld to the highest standards across both private and public sectors.
Throughout her career, she has participated in a wide range of professional development programs, including AML/CFT training, risk-based assessments, and best practices for company secretarial duties. Her comprehensive knowledge in AML/CFT allows her to effectively maintain compliance with FIAMLA/CFT regulations across her portfolios. She diligently reports any issues of non-compliance to the board and senior management in her capacity as a company secretary, contributing to the robust governance of the entities she manages.
Toorisha Nakey
Toorisha joined Intercontinental Trust Limited (“ITL”) in the year 2008 and is currently Senior Manager in Onelink Ltd. She oversees the operation of the listing team as well as a portfolio of local clients including Public Interest Entities. She advises clients on incorporation of companies, attends board meeting and provides guidance to the board with regards to company secretarial and corporate governance matters. She also ensures compliance with ongoing obligations in relation to regulatory matters and is the direct point of contact for clients.
She worked in the Fund administration department for five years where she gained extensive experience by administering fund structures as well as other special licence companies.
She advised clients on the fund structures, reviewed fund documents and was also involved in fund accounting.
Over the years, Toorisha has gained experience to manage people and to service clients. She has attended several seminars, conferences and workshops in relation to leadership, presentation skills, company secretarial matters, AML/CFT and compliance with ongoing SEM obligations and Code of Corporate Governance. She also acts as director on various Global Business Companies including listed entities and Money Laundering Reporting Officer and Compliance Officer for several companies under her administration. Toorisha is also the Vice President Membership for the Imperium Toastmaster Club.
Toorisha graduated from the University of Mauritius with a B.Sc (Hons) in Finance with Law.
Mohsin Ramjeet
Mr. Mohsin Ramjeet joined the Corporate Services Department of Intercontinental Trust Limited (“ITL”) in 2018 as Senior administrator and is currently serving as a Manager at Intercontinental Secretarial Services Limited. He is a Chartered Company Secretary and member of the Chartered Governance Institute.
He currently oversees structures such as GBCs, Trusts and Domestic companies as well as other companies that are listed on the SEM and JSE, also advising on incorporation of companies, advising on company structures, regulatory matters and corporate administration as well as company secretarial duties to Companies, both under the private and public structures in the global business sector and the domestic sector.
He has attended various conferences, workshops, masterclasses and trainings in AML/CFT, Risk Based Assessment, Best Company Secretarial Practices and Minutes Writing. From training received in AML/CFT courses, he ensures ongoing compliance with FIAMLA/CFT regulations for portfolios under administration on a day-to-day basis. Any non-compliance matter is reported accordingly to the board and senior management by way of representing ITL as company secretary.
Mushirah Meer
Miss Mushirah Meer-Hossen is an experienced Assistant Manager with over 5 years of expertise in the domestic corporate sector. Specializing in overseeing domestic companies, she provides comprehensive advice on setting up companies, Business Registration Number (BRN) activities, and obtaining necessary licenses. Mushirah’s strong background in regulatory matters, corporate administration, and company secretarial duties ensures smooth operations and compliance within the domestic business landscape.
In addition to her expertise in domestic sector, Mushirah has played a key role in restructuring groups of companies and has developed substantial experience liaising with various local authorities to facilitate regulatory processes and approvals. Her educational foundation in BSc Management minor Business Informatics and a Masters in Business Administration, reinforces her ability to provide strategic and informed advice in the corporate sector.
